S2 Science course

Pupils in S2 study Science within the whole school context of Exploration.

We explore the big question 'what is our place in the world?' by considering the impact that humans have on the planet. We look at how scientific understanding allows us to feed the ever-growing humans population and how our needs have resulted in an energy crisis. Pupils will consider the pros and cons of alternative sources of energy and discover how they can generate electricity. Pupils begin to think about the need to explore the Universe to find a new home and form opinions on the moral, ethical and scientific dilemmas that this poses.
